How Do The IPA’s Work?
Step 1: Nominee Submissions
It’s all about the podcasts! We’ll be accepting submissions beginning March 7th until 11:59pm on Sunday, July 21st.
Your show is eligible for the Iowa Podcast Awards if:
You have an active RSS feed and your podcast is publicly available,
You have released at least 3 episodes of your podcast since January 1st, 2023 (unless your show or award category purposefully has less than 3 episodes, such as a limited series), and
At least 51% of your podcast episodes are produced in and released from Iowa.
Step 2: Committee Review
As nominee submissions roll in, submissions are assigned to the IPA Committee for review. Once all submissions have been entered and reviewed by the IPA Committee , each eligible member of the Committee will submit their recommendations for the honorees of each category.
Step 3: The Awards Ceremony
On the day of the event, we will have workshops and classes, meals and networking events, and a full day of activities leading up to the official Iowa Podcast Awards Ceremony in the evening where all awards will be given.
IPA Timeline
March 7th - Nominee Submissions Open, IPA Tickets Go On Sale
July 21st - Nominee Submissions Close, People’s Choice Award Voting Begins
August 19th - Official Nominees are Announced
September 15th - The Iowa Podcast Awards
