Our dream for the IPAs is to unify a community of podcasters throughout the state, and that means putting together a committee to judge the submissions! We hope to put together a diverse committee that reflects the various communities of Iowa.

Terms and additional information:

• Anyone can be part of the committee, whether you are an active podcaster, expert in any field, or just someone who lives in Iowa. As long as you have a passion for listening to podcasts and sharing feedback that helps them grow, you’re welcome.

• Committee members will be selected and given listening assignments in July once submissions have closed. Committee members will be assigned to specific categories and will only be asked to listen to one episode per submission.

• Committee members will have roughly one month to listen to and grade each submission based on the grading rubric which will be provided.

• Committee members will receive a small stipend for their time based on advance submission and ticket sales. (This won’t be enough to change anyone’s lives, but it’s a small gesture to show value for your time. Committee members should do this for the love of podcasting and the community, not to quit their day jobs)

• When giving out judging assignments in July, we will work with Committee members to identify any potential conflicts with categories or shows and work to avoid those.

  • This may include shows you submitted for consideration, other shows in a category that you have a submission in, or shows that you have a direct affiliation or relation to.
